In this season of bounty, we’re circling up with Pittsburgh’s most innovative leaders working in the food security space to give you the backstage pass to meet the people and practices driving toward solutions. A day for you to explore these complex truths, disparities and ways you can make a difference in a day long event like no others.
Get up-close-and personal with what it looks like to drive change through action, passion, innovation, purpose and art. Learn first-hand what’s happening on the ground from the badass women tending local farms, ending waste, fighting hunger, protecting the environment, making art, and fighting injustices that are changing the landscape -- and your relationships to it -- right here in your community and beyond.
Line-up | Saturday, November 13th
1 pm Head to Contemporary Craft for a behind the scenes special viewing of the exhibit Food Justice: Growing a Healthier Community through Art with the curators, Kate Lydon and Katie Fitzgerald.
2:30 pm Grab a front row seat in The Salon for a lightning round of 10 tiny talks from the women who are shifting the conversation and shaping the field. You won't get sage from the stage here. Each promises to be provocative and a personal story of what it takes to get things done.
4:30 pm Bask in the whole of the parts for a community celebration on the rooftop of Arsenal Motors. We’ll uncork local cider made from ugly fruits and delight in Food 412 Rescue, Chef Kevin’s fixings rescued from discards. And, more!
